New cases of paragonimiasis in the Far East

Paragonimiasis has been known in the Far East of the USSR since 1928 and over 20 autochonous cases have been described. Cases of larval paragonimiasis have been reported recently from the Primorsk Territory. 3 cases of chronic paragonimiasis, confirmed by the presence of ova in sputum and/or pleural fluid, are described. All cases responded well to bithionol.
