Glycine-linoleamide (LG) has been synthesized by the mixed anhydrides method and pharmacologically studied in view of a glycinergic action in the central nervous system (CNS). The effect of LG, on the strychnine convulsions and lethality in rats, on the rat motor activity and on the thermoregulation of mice and rats, has been studied. Cataleptigenic properties of the compound and its impact on the haloperidol and reserpine catalepsy have been explored. At last, the effect of LG on the palpebral ptosis and reserpine hypothermia, has been studied. The results of these studies, suggest a glycinergic activity of LG in the CNS.
