Effect of glycine steatamide on the rectal temperature of rats treated with reserpine

Glycine-steatamide has been synthesized by the mixed anhydride method and studied pharmacologically. Its effect, on the rectal temperature of rats treated by reserpine, has been followed for 72 h. SG antagonizes the initial hyperthermia and the tardive hypothermia provoked by reserpine. These results have been discussed in relation with recent data on the thermoregulation and the probable role of glycine in the bipolar affective disorders.
