Papers included: Education models in the historical development of Latin America; Educational planning in Latin America; Education and development in Paraguay; Education and development in Costa Rica; Strategies for the development of education in Costa Rica; Education in Ecuador's modernization process; The problem of monolingualism and Indian education in Guatemala; Rural marginality, education and multilingualism in a reform context: the Peruvian situation; Agrarian reform and education in Honduras; Unequal development and rural education; Education for rural development in Latin America. The second part of the Seminar was centred around a discussion on future areas for research such as types and methods of development, priority groups and regions for development, educational planning, levels of education and training.
