In the course of cryoconservation damages of the biological material occur. The results of a conservation of 18 different mycoplasma stems in liquid nitrogen for 6 1/2 years are represented. The survivability of the mycoplasma cultures with and without multiple interruption of the cooling is shown, and the extent of the damage due to multiple interruption of the cooling process is discussed.
