Probability distribution of the school-achievement test ranked score

Probability distributions of the ranked scores as derived in the school achievement test (SAT) are studied, under the hypothesis that all responses are independent zero-one variables with the same probability to be correct. Comparison made with the empirical counterparts yielded some differences giving thus evidence that the hypothesis is a simplification of the actual situation manifesting itself in the SAT. The results found are the basis for the probability distribution of the item sensitivity (discrimination ability) index.
