Three cases of primary cutaneous cryptococcosis in cats are reported. Cat 1, a 13-yr-old Persian, presented with a skin lesion on the planum nasale which had slowly enlarged and ulcerated over a year. The lesion was excised and Cryptococcus neoformans was isolated. Cat 2 presented with numerous skin lesions that had developed during the preceeding 2 months. C. neoformans was isolated from a nasal lesion. The cat was euthanatized. Necropsy revealed that the lesions were limited to the skin. Cat 3 presented with pruritogenic skin nodules distributed over the trunk, head, neck and tail. C. neoformans was isolated from biopsy specimens. Treatment with ketoconazole (10 mg/kg orally once daily) was initiated. All the lesions resolved after 4 months of therapy.
