82 cattle were inoculated with a bivalent vaccine containing live, attenuated viruses of types A24 and C3. The type C virus was recovered from the oeso-phagealpharyngeal (OP) fluid for 39 weeks after vaccination and for 33 weeks in 12 unvaccinated cattle kept in contact with the vaccinated cattle. Type A virus was recovered from only one vaccinated animal (13 weeks after vaccination), and never from the contact animals. In one instance both types of virus were present in the sample.
