Oral margarine administration (30 g/kg) in male rats induced an obvious increase of the percentile concentration of serum chylomicrons and prae-.beta. fraction (agarose gel electrophoretic separation). Bipotassium chlorazepate, lorazepam, diazepam and in a less extent chlordiazepoxide decreased the percentile elevation of chylomicrons and especially prae-.beta. fraction. These compounds induced an increase of the percentile level of .alpha.-lipoprotein; .beta.-fraction was less affected. The optimal doses varied for each drug.
