Plasma nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA), blood sugar and packed cell volume were estimated in 6 Hereford heifers fed 6 times a day for 30 days, each on a different intake of digestible energy (DE), from 5.6 to 17.8 Meal per day. NEFA were estimated also in 4 groups with a total of 18 similar heifers given 4 separate rations once a day for 70 days.
