S. dublin abortion in sheep

In an outbreak of S. dublin infection in a lambing flock 30 out of 380 ewes aborted and 23 of them died. The seven surviving ewes were allowed to mingle with four salmonella-free ewes and one ram, and rectal swabs and blood samples were taken from them at regular intervals. Healthy lambs were born to both groups of ewes and there were no abortions.
