Postirradiation changes in the levels of antithrombin IIi in the blood of rats subjected to whole-body irradiation

The authors investigated in plasma of rats subjected to whole-body irradiation with 8.0 Gy changes in antitrombin III levels. Immediately after irradiation a reduction of the antithrombin III plasma level was recorded. At subsequent time intervals the antithrombin III level returned to levels recorded in non-irradiated rats, up to the 7th day after irradiation when a rise of the antithrombin III plasma level was recorded. During subsequent time intervals the antithrombin III plasmin level returned to levels recorded in the plasma of the control group.
