Plasma protein and total leucocyte counts as affected by cooling in buffaloes (Bos bubalis) during summer

Plasma protein level was depressed by heat stress. Total leukocyte count was lower in the control group and also lower during the hot and dry period of summer. Heat stress induces these changes by suppressing nutrient intake/absorption and by adrenal hyperactivity. These values should be taken into account when evaluating the severity of heat stress in buffaloes.
