10 market basket samples of infant and toddler diets collected during the 1-yr sampling period were analysed for residues of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and selected metals and industrial chemicals. Results are presented as in the 3rd report [see preceding abstr.]. 42 compounds were found 417 times in total in 98 infant composites; 48 compounds were found 606 times in 110 toddler composites. Increases in numbers of compounds found over the preceding yr are due to improvements in methodology, mainly for analysis of fungicides.
