The biology of A. subpictus which is a vector of malaria in Pondicherry [India] was studied in the laboratory. A cyclic colony was raised. The fecundity ranged from 38-286. The mean hatchability of the eggs was 64.7%. Highest insemination rate was observed when the male to female ratio was 5:1. The longevity of females ranged from 2-21 days.
