Recrudescence, recurrence and relapse in malaria

Usage of the terms 'recrudescence', 'recurrence' and 'relapse' is briefly discussed. It is considered that 'relapse' should be avoided when discussing Plasmodium falciparum malaria; 'recrudescence' should be used instead.
