Three methods, immunogold-silver staining (IGSS), dot-ELISA and dot-IGSS were used for testing sera from 40 patients with clonorchiasis from Jiangsu, China. The positive rates were 100%, 90% and 95% respectively, while the negative rates were 100%, 97.5% and 97.5% when the same methods were employed for testing 40 normal sera. It is concluded the 3 methods are both sensitive and specific for the detection of clonorchiasis.
