Among 250 tissue specimens collected by aspiration biopsy from the duodenum, small intestine, and rectum of 187 patients, human rotavirus was found in 50 cases in marked cryostate sections by means of fluorescent-serological examinations. At a total rate of findings of 26.7%, rotavirus was repeatedly detected in 5.3% in rebiopsies during more than 10 months, therefore active persistence of human rotavirus must be taken into consideration.
