Mechanisms of the elimination of 10 perfluorides (PF) and of the binary system perfluorodecalin/perfluorotributyl amine (PFD/PFTBA) with exhaled air were studied . Biphasic character of the PF elimination during expiration was established. For the binary system the rate of the PFTBA elimination was accelerated in the presence of PFD. According to the individual constants, a prognosis was made for the binary system perfluorotripropylamine/PFD. PF elimination with exhaled air, especially at the 1st phase, depended on the size of the emulsion particles: the greater the emulsion particle diameter, the higher the expiration rate. Expiration rates after i.v. and i.p. infusions were similar.
