Leishmania donovani, C57BL/6 mice, stimulation of non-specific resistance by intravenous injections of glucan which were dose-dependent (2 or 3 injections induced greater degree of resistance than 1 injection), injections of formalin-killed promastigotes with glucan via subcutaneous or intravenous routes provided greater resistance than glucan or dead parasites alone against subsequent infection with viable parasites
