A soluble extract of E. histolytica activated lymphocytes from both amoeba-infected and uninfected people. G-200 column fractionation produced 2 fractions with the same activity as the crude extract, 2 which only activated lymphocytes from infected cases and one non-immunogenic fraction. The correlation between antigenic and mitogenic activity in this system is briefly discussed.
