The effect of 8 organic volatile compounds (isopropyl alcohol, benzene, pyridine, ethyl alcohol, n-butyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, carbon disulphide and acetaldehyde) on Auxarthron conjugatum, Chrysosporium pannicola, Keratinomyces ajelloi and Microsporum gypseum was studied. It is suggested that the varying results obtained for different compounds against different spp. may play an important role in the survival of the different spp. in soil.
