The following is based largely on the English summary of this further part of a series on sylvan reservoirs and vectors of Trypanosoma cruzi in Brazil . A strain of T. cruzi isolated from a bat (Tadarida laticaudata) caught in a palm-tree (Acrocomia sclerocarpa) at Sao Joaquim da Barra, in the State of Sao Paulo, was found to be pathogenic for baby white mice and rats. All individuals became infected, and 86.7% of the mice died. In Triatomines; it gave infection rates of 100% in Panstrongylus megistus (Burm.), 86.2% in Triatoma infestans (Klug), 60% in T. sordida (Stal) and 58.7% in Rhodnius neglectus Lent.
