The in vitro comparative effect of 3 anthelmintic drugs, levamisole, nitramisole, dexamisole and biologically active substances on adult B. booliati were studied. Levamisole is the most potent in paralyzing the adult filaria in vitro. The pharmacological procedure described can be used for assessing the mode of action of anthelmintics against filarids.
