Male Wistar rats weighing 90 to 100 g were given 30 mg retinol by mouth daily for 13 days. Free tubulin pool in the brain and free and total tubulin pools in the liver were decreased. It is likely that impaired myelination in brain and liver could be the result of the effect of vitamin A on tubulin turnover.
