Bifunctional activities of bovine plasmin exhibited differential sensitivities to .gamma.-irradiation. The proteolytic function of plasmin was relatively more susceptible to radiation than the esterolytic function. The loss of the former activity alone could be correlated with reduction in histidine residues. The zymogen plasminogen was more susceptible to radiation-inactivation than plasmin alone.
