Regeneration dynamics of mucosa of rats' small intestine after in situ desquamation of epithelium using the solution of natrium tetraphenylborate as a factor complexing K+ ions

For the desquamation of the epithelium in a selected area of the rat small intestine in situ, a solution of sodium tetraphenylborate was used. The histological observations of mucosal regeneration proved that during the first 8-9 h a total coverage of desquamated and markedly diminished villi takes place. During the later stage, lasting 3-4 days, the villi return to their normal length and structure.
