In 46 Buffalo rats aged 4-6 weeks, weighing 120-160 g. the activity of lactase, saccharase, maltase, gammaglutamyltransferase and lipase was determined in duodenal mucosa after intragastric administration of neomycin and rondomycin for 6 and 12 days. Intragastric administration of neomycin during 6 days reduced the activity of lactase, maltase, gammaglutamyltransferase and lipase. Administration of neomycin during 12 days decreased further the activity of lactase, maltase and lipase and reduced saccharase activity. In rats receiving intragastrically rondomycin for 6 days a decrease of lactase and saccharase activity was observed. After 12 days of rondomycin administration the activity of lipase was considerably depressed. Statistically significantly lower values of the activity of enzymes in duodenal mucosa were seen after neomycin than after rondomycin.
