During experimentation, the microscopic changes in the internal organs of rabbits in the early phase of femoral osteitis were studied as well as the effect of combined treatment with Streptase, Traskolan and Sefril on the development of these changes. Femoral osteitis, even in the early stage a disease of the whole system, and microscopic changes that were indicative of focal character and reactive interstitial inflammation. Disturbances in the microcirculation, focal damage to the cells of organs and changes in the vascular walls were found. The local products of the decay of bone, marrow and bacteria gaining access to the blood by the activation of mechanisms of disseminated chronic vascular coagulation were of prime importance in the origination of these changes. Early combined treatment of osteitis with Streptase, Sefril and Traskolan evidently prevented the occurrence of changes in the internal organs.
