A study of 3012 patients subjected to high spinal anesthesia (Th 5-6) for various surgical procedures was performed. The good results obtained and the insignificant neurological and circulatory complications observed in humans make this type of anesthesia the method of choice especially in patients with pulmonary, renal and hepatic failure and also in emergency cases.
