A thirty six year old pregnant woman had an emergency ceserean section under spinal anesthesia, which spread to a high level of Th1. There was no trouble during the operation. She vomited and aspirated gastric juice half an hour after the operation and at that time, the analgesia level was Th3. Aspiration pneumonia was mild and recovered 4 hours after the episode because she was wide awake. It is well-known that regurgitation of gastric juice often occurs in cesarean section. Therefore, we should watch carefully the patient whose consciousness is clear because the patient is unable to manage the vomitus due to high spinal anesthesia with paralysis of intercostal nerves.
