2-Phenylthio-2'-phenylamino and 4-phenylthio-2'-phenylamino nicotinic acids are synthesized and their antiinflammatory activity is described using the carrageenan Winter test in mice. 4-Chlorophenylthio-2-phenylamino-2-nicotinic acid, 4-chlorophenylthio-2-chloro-5-phenylamino-2-nicotinic acid and 4-chlorophenylthio-4-phenylamino-2-nicotinic acid bearing a Cl atom at position 4' are the most potent.
