Albino rats were allowed to inhale marihuana fumes for 5 min daily up to 90 days. After short term inhalation, the level of acetylcholine in brain tissue decreased and in blood increased whereas total catecholamine and serotonin increased in brain and decreased in blood. After prolonged use of marihuana fume inhalation, reverse phenomenon occurred where acetylcholine increased in brain. Total catecholamine and serotonin decreased in brain and increased in blood.
