Splenic sporotrichosis in a dog

A case is reported in which Sporothrix schenckii was cultured from nodular lesions of the spleen of a dog after splenectomy. Pustular eruptions had developed on the dog's skin following an ovariohysterectomy, and antibiotic therapy had been given. Therapy with NaI was successful.
