Between Dec. 1977 and Feb. 1979, 10 people who had taken Tl-containing rat poison in an attempt to commit suicide were treated in the authors' clinic; they included a 24-yr-old woman who had been taking repeated doses of the poison and was at the time of admission nursing a 6-month-old infant. Milk Tl content at admission was 0.25 mg/l; the infant was receiving approx. 250 ml milk daily. Blood and urine Tl contents of the mother before and after treatment were, resp., 0.07 and 0.01, and 0.4 and 0.08 mg/l; blood and urine Tl contents of the infant before treatment were 0.01 and 0.1 mg/l, resp.
