Determination of the lactose content of cow's milk using a continuous autoanalyzer

Milk-borne lactose levels were measured by means of a continuous automatic analyser on the basis of the o-toluidine method. The results obtained and the high accuracy thus established were verified by statistical calculation. The technique enables one single person to test 400 milk samples for lactose in one working day.
