A number of agents acting on CNS are capable of altering acute seizure activity by influencing biogenic amines. The role of dopamine and noradrenaline (norepinephrine, NA) in i.v. metrazole convulsions in mice was studied using various agents affecting synthesis, storage and receptor activity of the monoamines. Dopamine, in contrast to NA, had pro-convulsant effect.
