Specificity of the normal microflora of mosquito larvae

Studies on normal microflora of the mosquito larvae intestine and its specificity showed that the main mass of bacteria in the larvae intestine was removed by the flow of water swallowed by the larvae. The prevalence of gram-negative bacteria in the intestine is due to antimicrobial substances in the larval intestine, and to the metabolic products of Pseudomonas bacteria suppressing gram-positive bacteria.
