Prolonged vibration applied to the organism (frequency: 40 Hz, amplitude: 1 mm, exposure: 30 and 90 days for 3 h daily) is a pathogenic factor responsible for injury of the piriform cells, the granular layer cells and the white matter in the cerebellum of experimental gluinea pigs. The character and topography of the observed changes usually did not depend on the duration of exposure to the conditions of general vibration. The intensity of these changes, depended, although not in the directly proportional relation, to the time of exposure to general vibration.
