Of 861 cases of malaria found among 4242 people in Rohtak district, Haryana, India, between January 1976 and October 1977, 14 were due to Plasmodium malariae. 10 of these cases came from Bhirana village and 4 from Gochhi. The other 847 cases were mostly P. vivax (838); the remainder were P. falciparum (concurrently with P. vivax in 5 cases).
