Patients [22] with chronic upper dyspepsia but without ulcer disease were examined for gastro-esophageal reflux and gastro-esophageal sphincter pressure. Thirteen had an abnormal duodenal loop and 9 a normal duodenum. An increased incidence of gastro-eosphageal reflux was found in patients with abnormal duodenal loop; no differences were seen in the gastro-esophageal sphincter pressure.
