Cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations in whole serum and in its main lipoprotein fractions are presented for 2421 children 6 to 18 years old in Rochester, Minnesota. There were changes associated with puberty and some other sex-specific changes with age. There were 61 children with type IIa, 5 with type IIb, 5 with type III and 30 with type IV hyperlipoproteinaemia. In another sample of 1245 there was 1 boy with type V hyperlipoproteinaemia.
