A technique for light microscopic Cu detection in tissue is described. Fresh tissue and formalin-fixed sections are stained in a mixture of 3 ml of 0.06% lumokupferon [p-dimethylaminobenzyldenbenzoylaminoacetic acid] and 10 ml of acetate-ammonium buffer, pH 10 solution. Cu detected in normal human tissue shows green luminescence.
