30 women received an intramuscular injection of methylergometrine maleate 0.2 mg immediately after delivery then oral ergotamine tartrate 1 mg 3X daily for 6 days. 28 control women received no treatment. There was no significant treatment effect on milk intake or wt. gain by the infants during the 1st 6 days post partum.
