The synthesis of a specific protein was increased in the uteri of ovariectomized rats by c, given in vivo, induced the synthesis of a protein with similar mobility on the polyacrylamide gels. This protein showed similar mobility like the E2 induced protein reported earlier. The effects of cAMP and E2 were compared; though cAMP mimicked the action of E2, it does not act as a 2nd messenger in hormone action.
