Rats were fed on a basal diet without protein or with 12 (control), 30 or 48% casein replacing starch. After 23 days they were injected intraperitoneally with [57Co]cyanocobalamin and were killed 24 h later. Total uptakes of 57Co by tissue as percentage of dose were 52.2, 44.7, 52.3 and 51.1 with the control value significantly less than the others.
