Disseminated histoplasmosis with osseous involvement in a dog

Enlargement of lymph glands, tongue lesions and intermittent lameness developed in a dog. Radiography revealed small calcifications in tracheobronchial lymph nodes and a lesion of the right femur. Biopsies of the tongue, colon and bone contained Histoplasma capsulatum. Treatment with amphotericin B, using conventional dosage, was successful and the animal was clinically normal 1 yr later.
