ADP-induced platelet aggregation as measured by Born's method, and thrombelastography were carried out in 20 subjects characterized by secondary thrombocytosis (of whom 13 were patients) and in 15 controls, matched by age and sex. Statistical analysis of data demonstrated that platelet functions were significantly increased in secondary thrombocytosis. These results were confirmed also in the selected rheumatoid arthritic patients.
