In experiments with 8 adult dogs, intermittent hypoxia caused a biphasic change in the functional activity of segmental-nuclear neutrophils. Depletion of the regulatory mechanisms, in particular the hypothalamo-hypophyseal-adrenal system, formed a basis for the functional activity of neutrophils during prolonged (or intensive) effect of the hypoxic factor. Chronic intermittent hypoxia caused phasic changes in the functional activity of leukocytes.
