Cooking times and energy consumption required to cook beef patties, meat loaves, and beef roasts by gas, electricity, and microwaves were determined, using various types of home cooking appliances from fry pans and Dutch ovens to different size ovens and portable appliances. Numerous tables show the statistical data. Patties cooked on the range surface received the highest score for overall acceptability. Overall acceptability was basically the same for meat loaves and roasts cooked in different range units and appliances.
